The North American Agricultural Advisory Network will host a first-of-its-kind convening in Regina, Saskatchewan, from May 11-13, 2027, bringing together agricultural leaders across Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The gathering will unite 300 participants to explore key policy and research priorities in agricultural extension services, advance coordinated solutions, and strengthen agricultural resilience and rural prosperity across North America.
Participants will engage with experts, examine emerging policy and research priorities, and tour farm and food operations. The meeting is designed to foster strategic awareness and collaboration among business leaders, policymakers, researchers, producers, and community organizations across three core thematic areas:
- Biodefense and biosecurity: Pathogens, pests, and disease outbreaks increasingly threaten food security and agricultural economies. Coordinated intervention is essential to protect producers, supply chains, and communities.
- Disaster preparedness and mitigation: Extreme weather events and natural disasters cross borders and cause billions of dollars in damage annually – disrupting food systems and affecting rural livelihoods.
- Workforce development: Indigenous farmers, women farmers, and young professionals are vital to the future of agriculture. Yet farmers across North America are aging, and many young people face limited economic opportunities in their communities.
Regina sits at the geographic and economic heart of Canada’s Prairie economy, with strengths across the full agri-food value chain, from primary production and value-added processing to ag-tech innovation and manufacturing. In close partnership with Economic Development Regina, the Regina Hotel Association, Tourism Regina, and Tourism Saskatchewan, the city looks forward to welcoming delegates in 2027 for an exciting and memorable experience in our community.
A formal registration announcement and event details will be released soon.
